Similkameen Forest Products joined the Gorman Group in September 2025. Located in beautiful Princeton, British Columbia, our mill is a well-established producer of dimensional lumber, operating in the productive mixed forests of the Southern Interior.
Today, we produce approximately 240 million board feet of lumber each year.
Our fibre is sourced from the responsibly managed forests of the Southern British Columbia Interior, providing high-quality Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF) known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and Douglas Fir-Larch (DFL) prized for its superior structural density and durability.

Interior SPF is one of the most widely used structural species groups in North America. Grown in the cooler, high-elevation forests of the Southern Interior, the fibre develops tight growth rings, uniform density, and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Our SPF is known for its workability, dimensional stability, and reliable nail-holding performance, making it an excellent choice for platform framing, engineered wood products, and remanufacturing applications.

Our DFL grows in the Southern Interior and is recognized for its high strength and density. With a straight grain, warm reddish-brown colour, and high resin content, DFL delivers excellent structural performance, stability, and fastener-holding capability. These qualities make it a preferred option for structural framing, heavy timber construction, and mass timber applications, including cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam.

The Similkameen Forest Products team brings deep experience in both Spruce–Pine–Fir (SPF) and Douglas Fir–Larch (DFL) production, reflecting the long-standing forestry heritage of the Princeton region. Together with the Gorman Group, we combine decades of local knowledge with ongoing investment in manufacturing optimization, responsible fibre use, and consistent product quality.
Our fibre is sourced from responsibly managed Interior forests under British Columbia’s provincial tenure system, in partnership with the Ministry of Forests. These forests are managed using sustainable forest management practices that support healthy ecosystems, strong communities, and long-term forest renewal for future generations.
